The King Of Rock (& Brews) Enters The Garden
This day 43 years ago, the King of Rock himself – Elvis Presley – took to the stage at Madison Square Garden. It was the first of four completely sold-out shows at the legendary venue. Elvis left his blue suede shoes at home, opting instead for his now infamous bedazzled jumpsuit and didn’t hold back once he hit the stage. Shaking up the crowd, he played one hit after the other, gyrating himself into the stuff of legends. He would become the first performer to sell out the legendary venue, with more than 80,000 tickets sold in all.
